Anderson Engineering has an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Engineer – Professional Engineer/Engineer Intern. This individual must have knowledge of geotechnical drilling, including soil sampling, rock coring, groundwater measurements, and planning geotechnical explorations.  Performs work which involves conventional types of geotechnical investigations, calculations, and reports.

Assignments usually include one or more of the following: developing geotechnical scopes of work, field logging, field inspections, field investigations, overseeing drill rig operations, testing of materials, calculations, preparation of reports, discussion of results, and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments. Performs tasks done under supervision of Project Engineer or Department Manager in planning projects, preparing reports, calculations.  Maintains good client relations.  Communication required with Drilling Manager daily to coordinate field drilling.  Communication with Construction Testing Manager daily is required for geotechnical projects that go into construction phase.

Applicant must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, be self-motivated and customer service oriented. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are a necessity.

Responsibilities May Include

Project management
Analyze geotechnical engineering boring logs and other data
Perform geotechnical calculations
Make assessments and write technical reports
Oversee drilling equipment operations
Oversee geotechnical laboratory testing for reports
Estimating quantities & construction costs
Construction phase services
Work in the office and field
Overtime may be required.
Outdoor drilling sites in all weather conditions

B.S. in Geology, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or similar field desired Licensed P.E desired / E.I will be considered 2+ years Geotechnical experience desired Heavy lifting, if required to assist drill crew
