We have an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Engineer – Professional Engineer/Engineer Intern. This individual must have knowledge of geotechnical drilling, including soil sampling, rock coring, groundwater measurements, and planning geotechnical explorations. Performs work which involves conventional types of geotechnical investigations, calculations, and reports.
Assignments usually include one or more of the following: developing geotechnical scopes of work, field logging, field inspections, field investigations, overseeing drill rig operations, testing of materials, calculations, preparation of reports, discussion of results, and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments. Performs tasks done under supervision of Project Engineer or Department Manager in planning projects, preparing reports, calculations. Maintains good client relations. Communication required with Drilling Manager daily to coordinate field drilling. Communication with Construction Testing Manager daily is required for geotechnical projects that go into construction phase.
Ability to lead others geotechnical drilling personnel; work with other geo professionals
Oversee drilling equipment operations, and geo laboratory testing for other and reports
Analyze geo engineering boring logs and other data, make assessments and write technical reports
Review work of others, provide guidance for reviews.
Track revenue and expenses for projects.
Maintain good client relations
This Position performs tasks done under supervision of Mid-level Geologist and orField Services Manager in planning projects, preparing reports, and lab work
Bachelor’s degree, Perform at Entry Geology level. Good people skills; Exhibits technical competence; and has good verbal and written communication skills. Valid, clean Motor vehicle license, Pass drug screen and physical.
